Student Project

Concept: Vertical is an edgy magazine for the daredevils and adventurers. This edition is aimed at the women who have paved the way in a male-dominated sport.

I wanted this magazine cover and article to be bold and punchy, showcasing the fierceness and power of the women who paved the way in skating history.
I wanted to reflect the DIY movement of skating, and used hand-written type and elements to create a raw feel.  
For the magazine cover, I wanted to flip the traditional look of an elegant editorial design - driving home the concept that these women skaters are disrupting this male-dominated sport.
